Hao Wu (Pastor Matthias) -
Pastor Matthias, daughter Annie, wife Huifang and son Elijah
Born in 1969, Matthias grew up in Tibet. He came to know Jesus in 1984 and in 1990 got his bachelor degree from Peking University. He then worked for various telecom, IT and internet companies. In 2006, God called him to serve full time. Since then he has served in various mission fields in mainland China, Germany, Tennessee and Kentucky - specializing in campus ministry.
In 2010 Matthias served as an international preacher at Eastern Parkway Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2013, he was ordained as a reverend by the Southern Baptist Convention. Finally, in 2015, he was sent by the North America Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention to plant a Chinese church in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Huifang Wu (Helena) -
Born in an athiest family, Huifang got her both her bachelor and master degrees in China. She then worked as a preschool teacher as well as a university lecturer. She came to know Jesus in 2003. Three years later she received her Ph.D. from Purdue University and worked as an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville for three years.
Huifang went on to get her Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013 - majoring in Biblical Counseling. She has served as a small group leader, Sunday school teacher for adults, teens and children, and serves in the Chinese Baptist Church in West Lafayette, Indiana.
