Psalm 116 I Love the LORD

I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.

Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on mel I suffered distress and anguish.

Then I call on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I pray; deliver my soul!”

Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; our God is merciful.

The LORD preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me.

Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling; I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits to me?

I will left up the cup of salvation and call o the name of the LORD,

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

O LORD, I am your servant; you have loosed my bonds. I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on he name of the LORD.

God is here and he looks upon us with love and responds to our cries for help.

Forgive us Lord for when we don’t care. Forgive us when we are unaware of our need for you.

When we hit bottom; when there is no one else to turn to, we cry out to you in desperation.

Forgive us Lord and convince us of your presence. Help us to no longer wait for pain or suffering to drive us to you. Enable us to walk in your course, be committed to your purposes and carry out our commitment to love you with our whole heart, soul, strength and mind and our neighbor as ourselves. Encircle us with your merciful hand and draw us to yourself.

Romans 5: 1-8 Peace with God Through Faith

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person - though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die - but God shows his love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us.

Matthew 9: 35-38 The Harvest Is Plentiful, the Laborers Few

And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
